Part-Time CFA® Courses

Quartic Training has designed the CFA Program part-time timetable around you, the candidate, to provide the maximum choice and flexibility. You have a choice of day release (Friday each week), weekends or evenings. Subject to availability you are free to change the timing, though we do request that you ask us in advance so that we can make sure that a place is reserved for you.

There are four phases of the Quartic programme:

Start-up phase

The Level I start-up is designed for those with little financial background. Over two days this course provides an introduction to basic accounting, quants and asset valuation. The focus is on financial statements, time value of money, statistics and asset valuation, and provides candidates with a broad introduction to many of the topics that will be seen in the Education course. It could also be used as a “tester” to see if the CFA Program is right for you.

At Level II, the two day start-up is a bridge from Level I and combines a refresher of key topics with an introduction to Level II concepts.

Education phase

At each Level, eight days (four two-day modules) or 16 evenings cover the entire CFA® Program curriculum, with graphic slides, question banks and progress tests included.

Our Education courses are modular to allow you to allocate your time and budget to the areas that would benefit you the most. You can choose from evenings (two per week, whether City or Docklands), weekends or Fridays, and can mix & match if your diary is busy.

In outline, the Level I modules are as follows:

  • Module 1: quantitative methods, corporate finance and portfolio management
  • Module 2: financial reporting & analysis
  • Module 3: equity, fixed income and alternative investments
  • Module 4: derivatives, economics and ethics.

Level II has a similar modular structure:

  • Module 1: quantitative methods, economics and portfolio management
  • Module 2: corporate finance and financial reporting & analysis
  • Module 3: equity investments and alternative investments
  • Module 4: derivatives, fixed income investments and ethics.

A Progress Test is provided on each of the four Education modules: these contain exam standard questions and are designed to assess whether you are on target for success.

Revision phase

Over the five days of this course the entire curriculum is reviewed in summary. Key concepts and calculations are discussed but the focus is on question practice. By the end of the course you should feel far more confident that you will be able to answer the questions on the day. The Revision course is designed as an entire unit, not usually suitable for partial attendance.

Mock exam

After the Revision course, we provide you with a full six-hour invigilated practice exam to prepare you for the actual day a few weeks later. Quartic Training marks the papers and provides you with your own results, benchmarked against your peers. The structure and difficulty of the mock should help identify your areas of weakness - we have noticed a strong correlation between success in the mock exam and on the real thing.
